lays down some more reverse beasts
-----
Waking up doesn't feel like waking up, to Grian. He moves from dreams of red eyes and rough hands smoothly into hands ever so slightly rougher, kneading deeply into the muscles of his arm. He floats, in that soft in-between, where the sore aches of his muscles are worked out for him, without him having to do anything other then go along with being moved occasionally.
He really overdid it yesterday, didn't he? He doesn't even remember returning to his base…
Those warm hands move on from his arms, pressing into the muscles of his lower back, pulling a groan out of Grian.
Not my base.
Grian tries to make sense of that thought, where would he be sleeping, if not his base? The more sensible part of him asks why anyone else's hands would be here if it was his base.
What Grian doesn't breathe in, is the sharp scent of the sea. Instead, he breathes in the enveloping but fading scent of chemicals and the fresher but somehow fainter scent of pine. A note of sweetness rounds out both smells, pleasant. …why does his bed smell like anyone other than himself?
And why is he reminded of the scent of cherry blossoms and bamboo?
A low whistle knocks Grian's thoughts to the side, making it much more pressing for him to arch his back and lift his wings to fully present them.
"Perfect." Scar's smooth voice, low and pleased. Pleased with him, that's good. …right? "They're healing nicely, very good." Scar chirps, running a shiver down Grian's spine, before whistling a slightly higher note.
Grian lets himself settle back into the bed, wings draping down fully relaxed on either side of him.
His hand is taken up again and warm lips are pressed to the palm. "Delightful, I'm glad you remember, my falcon." Scar murmurs, before Grian's arm is returned to the bed. Something tickles Grian's thoughts about those words in particular, but it slides away again.
"Rise and shine, Grian. Wakey-wakey." Scar calls, cheerfully, suddenly switching to a much brighter and less intimate tone and patting Grian's shoulder. "Mnnngmmft." Grian answers, eloquently.
"Good morning, sleepyhead. Didja have a good nap? You were almost out cold on the stone floor you know, you silly thing." Scar keeps chattering, too insistent to ignore.
Grian rolls onto his side, squinting at Scar. While he does feel less sore than when he'd woke up, that's not the same as not sore. And he'd really rather be sleeping right now.
Begrudgingly, Grian picks through his own memories. Right. The iron vein. That he'd minded. By himself. All in one go. Worth it, for the delight that had radiated from Scar, shining clean through Grian's every sense filling the cave. Scar's arms. Scar holding him. And then nothing. "Don't worry, I took care of you. Can't let my favorite tool get broken, after all." Scar winks at Grian, playful.
Favorite? Something in Grian lurches hopefully, that maybe… He might not have entirely messed this thing up between himself and Scar, after all. He refuses to even consider releasing Cub, even though he'd known- He knows Scar is displeased with that, no matter how many pretty faces Scar puts on being denied. …perhaps it would have been easier if he had ruined everything forever. At least then, if he'd had nothing to lose, he could have simply walked across that line and taken the rest of what he wants. It's not easy for Grian to hold onto why he isn't doing that, sometimes.
Grian reaches up to Scar, having entirely forgotten that he should probably answer Scar at some point here. With words.
Scar watches him with that mercurial gaze, but deems something acceptable. It's quite clear that he intends to lever Grian out of bed when taking Grian's hand.
Instead, Grian digs his fingers in and pulls sharply. He knows the right angle for it. Scar's balance goes out, the nerves running down his legs shorting out for a moment. Grian drags him close, trapping Scar in a tangle of arms and wings before he can orient himself again.
The scent of pine and honeycomb wraps around Grian's senses, soothing. He bets Scar was working on a tree before showing up out here, the sap and magic of it always clings to him for days, a distinctly sharp scent. Grian soaks in Scar's presence, his proximity, with every possible sense. Even taste, when an ear presents itself too temptingly in front of Grian. Just a little nibble. Just enough for Scar to chirr and trill, little thoughtless noises.
Scar makes one little halfhearted attempt to push his way out of Grian's wings, but gives up before he even spots light of day.
"G'mornin'." Grian manages to say. Scar's attempt to speak is squeezed out of him as a heavy weight settles atop them, pinching Grian's wing between the new weight and Scar's bulk. Grian keens a soft warble.
"Cub!" Scar darts a hand out from the tangle and jabs the weight- Cub, in whatever soft bits he can find.
"You were hogging the bed." Cub says. Grian blinks because he could swear Cub was going to say something else? Must be his imagination. "You're going to crush his wings, move, move." Scar keeps jabbing at Cub until Cub pushes himself up enough that Grian can slip his wing out. Granted, Grian then immediately settles it over top of Cub, pressing Cub and Scar together in Grian's hold.
Something about that feels right. Grian can't shake the feeling that that's how it's meant to be. Chemicals and pine and sugar all snug in his nest. Grian presses his face into Cub's hair, curls soft against his cheek. He can feel Cub relax, a slab of tight tension gradually loosening into cool, soft pillow. Softly, Grian chirps flock to him, though he's never explained that sound, so he doubts Cub understands it. It's fine, it's not like it would be reciprocated if Cub knew, so what's the point in explaining it, right? Just to look a fool? No thank you.
Scar's fingernails dig into Grian's side, his back. It takes hunger to know hunger.
Grian could do without the gift of a cryptic message and throbbing pain behind his eyes. He squeezes them shut, breathing deep and steady, counting the cycles until it passes. Only three, for such a small touch. Barely thinking, Grian presses a kiss to Cub's forehead, and then Scar's forehead, chirping soft soothing sounds.
A traitorous part of Grian's mind whispers that if Scar were truly that hungry for him, then Scar would let Grian claim him. Would let him prove his commitment. Would yield to him, sweet and entire. But Scar doesn't want him in the same way he wants Scar.
…how does he want Scar?
Answers rise up to Grian's mind, all too rapidly. Too many answers. Grian wants him like a candy clutched in a greedy fist. Grian wants him like a whistle cutting through the open air, calling a hunter home to roost. Grian wants him like the easy familiarity of moving in one another's spaces without questioning or pausing.
Grian wants all of it. All at once. Grian wants to know if any of that is actually him.
Something doesn't feel right with his head. With his heart. Shapes he doesn't recognize, there.
Grian sighs.
Why does his head feel more clear than it has all week? It's not the sleep, he's been getting plenty. He pulls his wings tighter around the bundle of them.
Grian can practically hear Gem saying it's proximity to the shared brain cell. Which, rude. "You're not subtle." Cub comments. And Grian would really like to know what he's not being subtle about, to defend himself-
But Scar jerks in place slightly, bumping his nose against Grian's neck, tickling him. A breath of a chuckle escapes Grian, which is all the warning he gets before Scar's hands are suddenly everywhere.
Grian flails, flapping his wings and kicking his legs and squeaking high pitched chirps of laughter. None of this deters Scar, who knows him all too well. The fiend knows exactly where to strike and how long he can linger before having to move to avoid Grian's twisting and blows. Tears have gathered in Grian's eyes by the time he realizes Scar is actually trying to play him like an instrument, touches more intentionally placed than they'd seemed. Swooping high notes of trills and sharp bursts of laughter, like every part of him is covered in buttons and Scar knows them all. Grian outright shrieks when Cub does something that makes his whole ribcage feel like it's inverting. It doesn't hurt, but it's way too much sensation when he's already keyed up from Scar's hands all over him.
"Cub!" Scar breaks off his tickle attack of Grian with an indignant shout, to pounce onto Cub, openly biting and clawing him.
Cub cackles, bright and high, throwing loose punches at Scar in return.
All Grian can do is catch his breath in gasping pants, head flopped to the pillow and vision full of Scar and Cub's struggle. The pair roll across the bed, tearing into one another with hard blows and slashes alike.
Scar gets the upper hand, pressing Cub's wrists into the bed. Grian's familiar with the way Scar leverages those muscles he's so proud of, to pin and hold. "Now, that was terribly rude of you, sugarplum~" Scar's words dip into that low rumble that invokes the depth of a growl without the anger of it. He pops the P in the pet name extra sharply to emphasize the word.
"What's yours is mine." Cub grins right back up at Scar, appearing unconcerned with his own immobility.
"Tsk, tsk. The lack of discipline has gone to your head." Scar shakes his head, sighing dramatically. Grian barely notices Scar moving his face down, until Scar suddenly takes Cub's lip in his teeth, slowly pressing his fangs clean through it.
Cub jerks slightly, but arches into the contact with Scar rather than away from it.
"What's yours is whatever I give you." Scar speaks with his fangs still sunk into Cub's lip, the shapes of the words tugging it this way and that, pulling little whines from Cub that Grian has never heard before. Or perhaps that's from the palpable shiver of magic in the air, honey-sweet with Scar's words. Unfortunately, Grian is rapidly discovering that it is, in fact, just as hot to watch Scar doing this as it is to be the subject of Scar in one of these moods- He has to resist moving his hand anywhere untoward, more so not wanting to draw attention to himself than anything else. "Maybe you're not generous enough to compete." Cub grins, sly and sharp and with just a flicker of light in his eyes. Scar outright snarls, breaking through his previous pleasantries. With a sharp motion, he rips his fangs out of Cub's lip, splashing blood over both their faces. "Generosity. You want to talk generosity? Giving away something that wasn't yours to give away isn't generous, it's treasonous. Traitorous." Anger growls through Scar's words.
"Is that what I am to you, a traitor?" Cub's words come messy, malformed by the deep slices through his lip.
"Are you a traitor?" Scar echoes back, soft and serious. Cub stares up into Scar's eyes. Grian keeps thinking he's about to say something, but the words keep not coming. "You know I can't answer that now." Cub's gaze slides off to the side, away from both Grian and Scar.
"Let me help." Scar demands. "I can't do that either." Cub says, with a flicker of frustration.
"You could, but you won't." Scar argues. "You can't give away what's mine and take what's mine at the same time. That's not on the up and up."
"We've never been on the up and up." Cub arches an eyebrow.
"We make exceptions for one another and you know it." Scar leans in and tongues hard at the cut in Cub's lip. This doesn't seem to bother Cub at all, even though it must hurt. "Not always." Cub shrugs.
"Cub." Scar frowns, pulling back again.
Grian has once again lost the plot, and he's not entirely sure if he should still be kinda turned on or not. There honestly is kind of a illicit thrill to getting to watch the kind of conversation he's very certain that the two don't have in front of anyone else. "I'm not gonna sugar-coat it for you, man." Cub stares up, unblinking, for long moments.
"You never do." Scar shakes his head, but a note of fondness leaks through. Scar leans down to press his forehead to Cub's. Scar murmurs something Grian can't hear, and Cub goes completely slack under him.
"Sweet, sweet." Scar clicks softly, a familiar sound, while looking over Cub.
Grian isn't even sure if Cub is still awake to hear the words.
Scar rolls his head to the side, looking Grian directly in the eyes. "Always watching. Well, never let it be said that you don't stick to your brand, huh?" Grian returns the stare, unblinking. He can feel his head tip just slightly as he examines Scar. "You're worth watching."
And of course Scar's expression flickers with pleasure at that, Scar not even attempting to suppress his preening. His wings flutter in little motions. "Flattery, Grian? I could stand a bit more of that." "Then earn it." Grian grins, covering it with one of his face wings.
Scar's tiny gasp is one of Grian's favorite sounds to hear. Grian extends his wing, spreading the feathers until he can boop Scar's nose with just the very tip of the largest feather.
Scar's eyes cross, watching the feather approach, and then he sneezes after being tapped. "You problem." Scar giggles, the sound echoing just slightly more than it should. "I don't think I really thought all that much about you being Vex before." Grian muses. Sure, sure the rivalry with Concorp, the pranks, the taste of Vex magic lingering around the mayor's throne- But it's somehow different thinking of Scar himself as a Vex. The features, the customs. Grian reaches out to touch Scar's face, getting within a hair's breadth before Scar flinches back, covering his own mouth. A moment of slight panic flickers through Scar's gaze before he can tuck it under a smile.
"We should get cleaned up- Before the crumbs get in the bed." Scar is already hauling Cub upright, pushing Cub behind himself. He follows Grian's unamused gaze down to the pillow, where flecks of Cub's blood very clearly already adorn the fabric. "You saw nothing!" Scar snatches up the pillow as well, before heading for the door, pushing an unresisting Cub in front of him. "We'll be back!" And then they're gone.
So. Like. That's weird, right? Grian likes to think he knows Scar's specific brand of strange pretty well, and that feels odd even for Scar. Grian rolls onto his stomach, wings splaying out to either side of him. Everything's been strange, ever since he summoned… Cub.
If Grian thinks about it, he can feel the thread between himself and Cub even now. Belatedly, Grian wonders if he should have followed the pair. This would be the perfect opportunity for Scar to steal Cub away-
Grian's stomach clenches and his fingertips prickle. No. Scar said they'd be back.
Believing a liar is a dangerous game, but if Grian wanted safe, he wouldn't be friends with Scar in the first place, now would he? He made his choice there plenty long ago. Continues making it in moments like these.
Granted, that leaves him with nothing to do here. He rolls over. Rolls over again. Barely avoids falling off the bed. Sits up.
Heaving a sigh, Grian curls a wing down onto his lap and begins preening it, just to have something to do with his hands, just to soothe himself.

My own TSAMS/TLAES Oc: Buggi!
I saw some people post their own tsams ocs, so I decided "ay why not join?"
Buggi
Buggi is an advanced ai that works for the Astrals (Pollux has mentioned they use some tools/mechanisms in their work, so Buggi is one of them). She stores and collects information she is given and finds. How she finds her information is by these little trinkets called "hologram disks." She can put them anywhere, and she'll be able to listen and see whatever is going on in the place. Another way on finding information is just hacking into other systems (like the satellites she sees orbiting Earth, she totally hasn't hacked them and has seen everything. What are you talking about? 🥴)
Background
Her background is anonymous. Nobody knows her origins or how she was even created in the first place. She just spawned in their eyes (astrals).
Location
She is usually found on a floating rock in space with her little computer room riding along with the rock. But remember, she is on a floating rock in space. You can remember her rock being near Jupiter, but all of a sudden, you'll see it near Mercury! She never stops moving. Well, that rock certainly doesn't.
Just Little Details/Facts
💠 She can always switch up her design to hair, gender, clothing, etc (like spider-byte :D)
🖥 She was originally from another tsams au (astral! Lunar), but I decided why not in the main universe, so now she's a tsams oc!
💠 Building off of the last fact, in the original au, she would be a Lunar kisser (mostly simp)
🖥 In this one, she is still a Lunar Kisser (she saw Lunar and thought, "Cute, now give me him.") but now that Lumini is canon, she has brought her feelings back (she is heartbroken 🥲)
💠 She's bubbly but is serious when she has to be
🖥 At first I was gonna make her toxic and still go after Lunar even after he got into a relationship with Gemini but I didn't like that bc I rather let her have a moral code (also cuz she'd be a home wreker and I don't want that :|)
💠 She is in the same lane of work as Nebula and is bitched around by the astrals, ESPECIALLY BY LEO & TAURUS
🖥 As mentioned (I think), she is an ai, but she does have a hologram projection that can interact with the real world (yes, she can punch you if she really wanted to)
I think that's all I have? We'll except for her background and past concepts as well as aus. Soo bye bye! Thanks for reading! If you are actually interested, you can leave comments about her that I'll answer! :]

Excerpt from this article from The New Yorker, written by Bill McKibben:
Living through the onset of rapid global warming involves learning to roll with the punches. Increasingly, those are quite real and painful—this year saw, again, an accelerating toll of flood and drought. But, even for climate scientists sequestered in the lab, life increasingly seems like a series of bewildering blows.
As 2024 began, we’d just finished the most remarkable year in the planet’s modern climate history—2023 had shattered every global record for temperature, with researchers firm in the conviction that our planet had seen its hottest average temperatures in at least a hundred and twenty-five thousand years. But, even as they watched the mercury soar, they weren’t completely sure why: temperatures seemed to be rising even before an El Niño warming in the Pacific fully kicked in. In a remarkably candid essay this March in Nature, NASA’s chief climatologist, Gavin Schmidt, said, “The 2023 temperature anomaly has come out of the blue, revealing an unprecedented knowledge gap perhaps for the first time since about 40 years ago, when satellite data began offering modellers an unparalleled, real-time view of Earth’s climate system.” If temperatures hadn’t settled back to something more like a consistent rise by late summer 2024, he noted, that would imply “that a warming planet is already fundamentally altering how the climate system operates, much sooner than scientists had anticipated.”
In the event, this August was the warmest August on record, and most of the other months of 2024 also broke records; it now seems certain that, when meteorological officials announce their results early in January, this will again have been the hottest year ever measured. Scientists still can’t explain what’s causing the spike, which sits atop the steady ramp in temperature over the past few decades. As Schmidt said in an October interview with Elizabeth Kolbert, “it’s still pretty much, I would say, amateur hour in terms of assessing” what’s going on. The proffered explanations—the eruption of a submarine volcano in the South Pacific that put a lot of heat-trapping water vapor into the air, the phase-out of high-sulfur fuels in oceangoing ships that reduced heat-reflecting pollution—don’t seem large enough to account for what the thermometers are measuring; it’s possible that we may have tripped some switches we don’t understand in the global climate system.
What we do understand is bad enough. In September, Hurricane Helene swept across the Gulf of Mexico, turning from a tropical storm into a Category 4 hurricane in barely more than a day—the kind of “rapid intensification” that researchers increasingly see as a hallmark of a warming ocean. It moved so fast that it carried the freight of rain that it picked up over the record-hot waters of the Gulf far inland; in the mountains just north of Asheville, radar estimates suggested rainfall totals of up to forty inches. That water inundated the cricks and hollows of southern Appalachia—the death toll from the storm sits at two hundred and forty-one (making it the deadliest to hit the U.S. since Maria devastated Puerto Rico, in 2017), and the economic damage is nearing a hundred billion dollars, making it one of the costliest storms since Katrina. But the pictures from a ravaged North Carolina looked an awful lot like pictures from devastated parts of southern Europe or northern Africa or Brazil or Southeast Asia—if you look on YouTube, you can find a near-daily flood of flood pictures, with floating cars careening down the streets of mountain towns.
There seems to be just one way left to even start to slow down that torrent, and that’s to rapidly replace coal, gas, and oil with sun, wind, and batteries—and if you’re trying to avoid existential despair, there are stories and numbers this year worth focussing on. Solar power expanded so rapidly in 2023 (eighty-six per cent up on 2022 worldwide) that some wondered whether the charge could continue this year; it did, with the best guess being we will see a further growth of nearly thirty per cent this year. We’ve clearly moved into the steep part of the S-curve of clean-energy expansion, where even the most optimistic forecasts are consistently surpassed, and at the moment we appear to be installing a gigawatt’s worth of photovoltaic panels (roughly the size of a nuclear power plant) every eighteen hours or so.

Autumn Equinox Observations | Dark Academia 🌾 MBTI | Earth Signs
When the days and nights are the same length the symbolism in the collective unconscious is especially significant. Here are some observations for 🍂 Earth Signs 🍁 In some ways naturalled attuned to this time of year.
🐌 As always, take what resonates and leave the rest! 🌬
🍊 this time of year can have a sense of 'all will be revealed' and 'how the tables have turned. For Taurus, ruled by venus, themes of fertility and harvest are yours, whatever energy is coming your way, is coming in abundance. Think of a writers block freeing up, or waiting ages for a job offer and 3 come along at once
🍎 the traditional tendencies of capricorn can be felt early even though we are three signs away in libra. Yet this time is all to do with the earth and you may feel like you cannot wait for your sign to come around. might want winter or the rest of autumn to come faster. remedy the blues by curling up with a good book
🍐 this is a time of exchange, thus this can even manifest emotionally. you may be exchanging one bad mindset for a better one. this can also be a time of travels, literal exchanges of goods or services, or switching one group of people for another.
🍓 for virgo - this exchange is MOST likely to be practical for you of all the signs. for you it is MOST likely to involve physical goods or services. this year you may find your brain freeing up as Mercury finally leaves all vestiges of retrograde energy aside on the 22nd when it reaches it's furthest elongation at the end of the Mercury Max cycle
🍍 of all the earth signs it's Capricorn who may have the most difficult time as this is a time of change which confronts your need for tradition. you can mark the occasion by investing in a new aesthetic, whether that means a desk tidy, new pair of glasses or so on. You are one of the signs who suits the dark academia aesthetic best and doing something like this can make any life changes easier
🍏 all signs - you may have a tendency to intellectualise and overanalyse any changes or life events that happen at this time, but you can combat this by going with your gut and feelings as opposed to what is practical. this can be harder for you than for water signs but shadow work on the upcoming Harvest Full Moon can make things easier 🌚
🍄 most likely to embrace the change are perceiving types ESXP ISXP INFP and ENFP 🦝
🌽 SJ types have a tendency to enjoy this time of year as there is a lot to keep busy with in terms of new school terms, foraging and preserving wild food, or whatever floats your boat
🌰 INFJ and ENFJ have a tendency to be in their element around this time of year as life tends to throw them the perfect combination of variety and routine. Taurus XNFJ may have the urge to buy new clothes. Virgo INFJ may enjoy a new venture and Capricorn ENFJ tends to indulge themselves around this time 🪶
Archetypes you may attract:
At times like this our ability to tap into the collective unconscious is particularly strong. Thus there may be a mythological element to the people we attract. This can look like:
🍁 People showing up that mimic patterns found in myth and legend (e.g. A relationship dynamic mimics, say, Orpheus and Eurydice)
🍁 Notable archetypes from the tarot around this time are The Empress (harvest), Justice (balance), Judgement, The Moon Reversed, The Emperor, and any of the Kings and Queens
🍁Several comets will be nearing earth in the period after the equinox and into october. These can signify temporal archetypes such as change, destruction/creation, karma, lessons learned etc. I will do another post on these in more detail.
🍁Virgo and Taurus, if your luck has been looking down you may attract the mentor archetype (from Joseph Campbell's hero's journey) around this time as your energy is in the right place and those well suited to you can tell when you need an extra hand.
🍁Capricorn, you may be in the return home stage of the hero's journey. As the year reaches it's final quarter your sign approaches (although it is not there yet!) however, Saturn, your ruling planet, governs some of the themes of reaping and sowing associated with the Equinox. Thus, you may be returning to stage one, the drawing board, or the start of a cycle.
If you found this interesting (especially the archetypes bit) I am offering free readings on my Etsy Store for the Tarot of Archetypes which looks at this kinda stuff in more detail. Use the code GIVEAWAY1234 for 100% off (Tarot of Archetypes only)
Alternatively DM me to suggest future topics if you want to see more of this kinda Jungian Archetypal spin on them - we have some pretty neat comets coming up, stuff on Ophiuchus, plus the Harvest Moon and Draconids meteor shower in October HOWEVER I am always open to suggestions and challenges

[ FATAL ]: Jayce purposely arrives on scene when Viktor is about to be attacked, and to protect him, they kill the other Jayce using the Mercury Hammer's energy blast.
He had been so deep in the intricate design of Vander's soul. Tugging at webs and threads to reveal the man beneath the chaos. It was exhausting work, but it was beautiful in its own haunting way.
Though focusing on this had been a hubris in itself - because it left his body so vulnerable.
Viktor felt the tug between the times too late. Turning his attention to this warm and oh so familiar loved presence, suddenly there was... more.
He had opened his eyes for merely a second. Looked into a face he loved so deeply - and yet it was twisted by pain and grief - and... desperation?
The weapon's light reflected in Viktor's pale eyes. A weapon that Jayce aimed at him.
No. That could not-
Time had slowed down to this moment. And suddenly the pendulum swung back violently. The blast from a weapon was set free in the same moment as time seemed to twist in on itself.
The world went quiet as shattered structures floated in the air. Blood splattered over golden webs of the Hexcore's structure. And Jayce laid there.
Beautiful, kind, brilliant, perfect Jayce.
Viktor's strength gave in along with his knees as he fell and quickly made to kneel at his dearest's side. Gathering him in his arms, cradling him gently. Holding him close to his chest.
He was dead. His golden eyes stared empty, having lost any shine and brightness. Jaw slack and with a slight wonder to his expression beneath dishevelled strands, which Viktor tugged back as if that could help him.
He had neither felt cold, nor fear or pain since having merged with the Hexcore. But now... now it felt like the world lost all its colours. All its beauty. All its... purpose.
All its sense.
He could not breathe. He could not... continue. There was no glory in a world without him. Only tears spilled over perfected skin and flesh.
And yet... part of Viktor did not accept this death. Feeling that familiar golden thread of Jayce's soul still. He could hear him. Feel him.
Looking up finally, Viktor stared into the same face he was currenly holding onto so desperately. The same face that laid there dead. The same face he loved so. Alive.
The webs were intertwining. An endless spiral turning. Switching around. Like a new thread added into the rope that was spun.
Viktor's breath stuttered. The Herald's voice with that whirring undertone had never sounded this confused. This hopeful.
"Jayce...?"

The first four months of the year have thrown at us cosmic rainstorm after cosmic rainstorm—so it’s about time we had some promising astrology in the air. January and February prolonged a lethargic Mars retrograde, March had chaotic eclipses, and April carried the emotional energy of the Venus and Mercury retrogrades that began the prior month. As we prep for May, the forecast looks partly cloudy with a chance of letting go of the past and embracing the present. The first significant shift of the month comes on May 4, with Pluto stationing retrograde in Aquarius. You should be no stranger to the effects of Pluto retrograde, because this is a transit that happens every year and lasts about six months. The previous one stretched from May 2 to Oct. 12 of last year—which could mean we might have Brat Summer 2.0 in store. With Pluto stationing retrograde, the message from the stars is to reflect on transformation. Pluto forces us to dig deep and explore the intricacies of how we are evolving internally. With the influence of Aquarius, we are looking at social change, the transformation of humanitarian efforts, the evolution of our social groups, and our goals/aspirations. This will require you to revisit fears and truths that tend to be buried deep down, allowing you to be more aware of what you can shed.On May 10, Mercury moves into Taurus. Mercury is the planet of the mind, ruling over communication patterns and idea sharing. The mind slows down, taking on a more direct and selective approach to conversations when in Taurus, and this very well may cause you to sense that everyone is acting a bit more stubborn than usual. So make sure you pay attention when you are butting heads in disagreements. You will probably be focusing on finances and possessions most of the month, so journaling or personal reflection should include intrapersonal conversations about what you value to help ensure you prioritize what matters. On May 12, we have a Scorpio full moon. I know what you’re thinking: “Is spooky season here early?” Only if you don’t enjoy getting deep and intimate with your emotions! The Scorpio full moon is about releasing what you are holding onto—because the Scorpio-Taurus axis is the axis of values and resources, which can tend to be too stubborn or refuse to evolve because of comfort zones. This is a great time to work with tarot, astrology, other esoteric, witchy wonders to help inform what decisions must be made. Trust your gut, listen to intuition, and go all in—Scorpio refuses to back down, and you should be willing to dive headfirst into whatever comes up during this full moon to make the most of it.On May 15, Jupiter squares the lunar nodes. Jupiter (in Gemini) is the planet of growth and expansion—the lunar nodes (in Pisces/Virgo) represent where we are coming from (south node) and where we are going (north node). During this transit, you may feel torn between growing something new and continuing to expand what you currently have. This could be a potentially overwhelming time around the middle of the month—Jupiter tends to exaggerate. Both the realities of the past and future may feel too big right now, but consistency is key because this is a mutable T-square. Knowing when to pivot and when to stand firm is essential. Don’t switch things up just for the sake of it; make sure there is intention with your actions. Then, on May 20, Gemini season arrives! The sun moves into Gemini, and the collective energy shifts to being less of a stubborn homebody (sorry, Taurus, it’s true) and into a social butterfly floating from one conversation to the next, gathering all the knowledge and stories it can. During Gemini season, it is essential to focus on lessons relating to communication and intellect. What conversations are you having? How are these chats challenging your understanding of yourself? Are you asking enough questions? Are you sharing your perspective enough? Be like a sponge—soak up everything you find curious, and don’t stray from sharing information. The most significant change in May is on the 24th, when Saturn enters Aries. Since March 2023, Saturn has been in Pisces. Now, the lord of karma starts a new cosmic cycle and bounces into the first sign of the zodiac. For those born in late 1996-1998 (give or take, check your chart to be sure), this is your first Saturn return! Saturn returns are the time to grow up and rise to the challenge of holding yourself accountable to follow through on your true path. With Saturn in Aries, leadership challenges will be more prevalent, individuality will be tested, and the need for accountability will reign supreme. Saturn struggles in Aries because it’s like forcing a childlike energy to run a Fortune 500 company—maturation can happen fast and aggressively, and you’ll be challenged not to respond like a child who feels slighted because things aren’t going their way. This is, however, a beautiful time to start fresh and establish yourself as an authority if you are willing to rise to the occasion. The penultimate shift of the month is less intense and acts like a breath of fresh air as Mercury moves into Gemini on May 25. Mercury loves being in Gemini; after retrogrades lingered throughout April, the end of the month allows us to have a clear mind. Communication becomes less stubborn and more open-minded when Mercury moves into one of their rulers. During this transit, the gift of gab will keep us all moving and grooving. Talk to as many people as possible, share stories, and listen! This very curious transit expresses itself most beautifully when you allow yourself to stay open to learning something new.The month closes out with a Gemini new moon on May 26. New ideas, new friends, and new stories to share are all expected around this time. The manifestation prompt is: “What story do I want to tell?” Gemini is the storyteller of the zodiac, sharing ideas regardless of what they could mean or where they might go. This new moon is the perfect way to kick off the coming summer months by allowing yourself to be open to flexibility and adapting to the changing times. Gemini new moons want you to let the wind take you on a journey across new horizons, so don’t stress about the perfect plan and allow yourself to go with the incoming gust of wind in your sails. What about the rest of the planets?Venus will be in Aries all month, continuing the quest for self-love, prioritizing personal values, and revitalizing self-worth through activities and projects that allow you to do what you love the most.Mars will be in Leo all month, which brings passion and drama, mama! Go big, be bold, and talk action that allows you to shine. This is somewhat competitive energy, however, so be careful of doing something to prove a point to someone other than yourself or showing off for the sake of garnering attention.Jupiter will be in Gemini all month, which is still growing our minds, communities, and ways we process information. Jupiter only has another month in Gemini, so make it count! Do what you can to explore what inspires curiosity, have tons of conversations, and read a book!Uranus will be in Taurus all month, and we have only two more months of it. Uranus rebels and innovates, while Taurus loves to stay consistent, so these two energies don’t vibe the best together. It’s been nearly a decade since Uranus first entered Taurus, so we are wrapping up a period of time when it is necessary to question what you value in order to create new foundations of self-worth and financial success. Finally, Neptune will be in Aries all month, and after recently moving into Aries, the question of “what do I believe?” has been swirling around all of us. Spirituality becomes a physical activity and less of a passive practice (i.e., putting intention into the gym, or dancing as ritual), and our dreams and illusions cause more tension than usual because Aries likes to fight. Are you willing to fight for your dreams? The overall vibe of May is forward momentum. There are a lot of planets in fire, only one planet retrograde, and plenty of transits that are screaming “let the past be the past and embrace the here and now!” Read your rising sign horoscope below for a more detailed look at what to expect this month. Wishing you the best! ✨AriesMay has a lot of exciting potential for you, Aries. You’ve got Venus and Neptune in your sign, which is helping you embrace the most glamorous and expressive version of yourself. You may be confused about who you are growing into, but don’t worry so much about being a fully realized version of yourself. Embrace what brings you the most joy and know that when Saturn moves into your sign, you can add structure to your development. Your ruling planet, Mars, is in Leo all month, which will help support the galvanization of joy in your life. Get outside and go after what you want—you have no excuses not to!TaurusMay is peak Taurus season, so you’d better spend most of this month reminding yourself who you are and what you deserve. While the sun is in your sign, you should be unapologetically yourself and spend more time sharing your authentic self with the world rather than hiding it. As a Taurus, synchronizing the internal with the external to provide a physical stamp of what you stand for to the world is crucial. Your ruling planet, Venus, will spend all month in Aries in your twelfth house. Although you may feel a fire under your tush to get out and experience the world, you may also find that you are more drained than usual with your ruling planet in the house of undoing. Listen to your circadian rhythm and don’t force anything that feels like too much.GeminiGemini season is almost here—but before you can sing and dance the praises of the mutable air sign, you need to first get over the hurdle of your inner saboteur. With the sun and your ruling planet, Mercury, in Taurus for most of the month, May is slower. With the sun and Mercury in Taurus in your twelfth house, you will probably spend most of this month reflecting on what you value and are holding onto. This mental journey will lead you to spiritual revelations if you let go of outdated patterns and bad habits. Don’t worry, though. Once the sun and Mercury shift into your sign toward the end of the month, you’ll find the fear of the unknown blows away in the breeze like dust on your shoulder you didn’t even know was there.CancerYou are probably still adjusting to the shift of Neptune into Aries and the changes it is making to your professional world and public reputation. During this month, you can make a lot of magic happen with the new and full moons. The full moon will help you realign how you invest time into your passions. The energy of Scorpio is going to propel you forward by forcing you to acknowledge how you may be burying away what brings joy to your life. The Gemini new moon will help you instill new patterns of communicating what matters the most to you and what you value. And through both of these together, you’ll be able to tackle any professional shifts by prioritizing a job that you love—and honoring what matters the most to you.LeoMay is all about getting out into the world and shining bright. It’s not like you struggle with that; you’ve got that Leo flair in you, after all! With Mars in your sign, you’ll feel motivated all month to do what you want, when you want, how you want. Additionally, with your ruling planet (the sun) dancing between Taurus and Gemini this month, you’ll find that you are motivated to achieve more and chase after those long-term dreams and aspirations you’ve been putting off. Use the burst of energy coming during May to set yourself up for the rest of the year. Work hard, and strategize how you will accomplish your long-term goals.VirgoMay should be fairly motivational for you, Virgo. You still have the south node in your first house, which will help you shed your old skin and embrace the new phase of life waiting for you. Don’t limit your growth by trying to fit into molds that no longer serve you—use this month to keep exploring your new self at this present moment. The good news is that your ruling planet, Mercury, will do just that. Dancing between Taurus and Gemini, you’ll notice that you are more curious about not only learning what else is out there in the world for you to do, but also how you want to make it your own. Spend time researching new topics or ways to work with your goals, and take some time to share where you see yourself heading with those you love.LibraAll month, you will be thinking about love and dreaming up your ideal relationships. And the best part is that, when Saturn moves into Aries, you’ll be able to add some structure to those rose-tinted ideas of yourself. Your ruling planet, Venus, will be in Aries throughout the month. Although Venus typically turns love inward in Aries, you may find that you are learning to balance loving yourself with loving everyone around you. Consider May the time to show up for yourself so that you can be the best version of yourself for those who matter the most to you. Be careful of being swayed too much by what others want or need from you—remember that you have to put your life vest on before helping someone else.ScorpioIf you needed a reason to return to the hustle and bustle, now is your time! May will be an excellent time to achieve your goals and assess where you want to take yourself next. Though one of your ruling planets, Pluto, is stationing retrograde, you still have plenty of opportunity to accomplish big things. This is because your other ruling planet, Mars, stands tall at the top of your chart, allowing you to take bold action toward accomplishing your goals. Mars in Leo is about doing what you want fearlessly, so don’t resist the urge to go where it matters most.SagittariusYou may feel the need to purge or get cracking on some spring cleaning during May. With the sun in Taurus, your world is focused on your daily life, routines, and health, which means that until Gemini season starts, you’ve got to focus on establishing habits that stabilize you. I know that sounds like a big ask for a Sagittarius, but think of it as making sure you always have a rest stop waiting for you during your journey. Your ruling planet, Jupiter, is wrapping up its dance through Gemini, which means any leaps of faith you’ve been hoping to take regarding relationships, collaborations, and business partnerships should have the seeds planted this month. Come time for the new moon at the end of the month, you’ll be prepped and ready to work hard with others all summer.CapricornA significant shift is coming this month, with Saturn moving into Aries. Being ruled by Saturn, you cycle through cosmic shifts every two and a half years, and this past stint has been a journey through letting go of control. Now, you are about to step into an era of self-affirming decisions and asserting yourself. Saturn moving into Aries at the end of the month will feel like a big change for you, but thankfully, you have the support of the sun in Taurus to remind you that, when you make decisions, they should help you enjoy life. Throughout May, reflect on who you are evolving into and what changes to your home life and daily actions will help honor that person you’re becoming.AquariusWith Taurus season lighting up your fourth house, you’ll find that for most of this month, you are enjoying time at home snuggled up with your loved ones. However, don’t let yourself get too comfortable—because this energy could cause the couch potato within you to miss out on the opportunity to revamp your living space into a refreshed version of your sanctuary. One of your ruling planets, Uranus, is still in Taurus, which is continuing to encourage making changes at home. However, your other ruling planet, Saturn, will move into Aries at the end of the month, which ultimately tests your ability to be vocal about what you care about and to allow people into the sanctuary you are building for yourself.PiscesMay is the perfect time to refresh your home and connect to the people and places that bring you the most comfort. With the sun dancing between Taurus and Gemini during May, you’ll find that you are more social than usual and want to bring people over to enjoy your space. Keeping an open mind and heart all month will help inspire and motivate you to hold space for yourself and your thoughts. Your ruling planets, Neptune and Jupiter, will emphasize further that the priority should be people and places that make you feel safe right now. Source link

After Venture, I was hired away by the PR mega firm Burson-Marsteller. My biggest client was the U.S. Tuna Foundation, which tried to get pregnant women to eat, you guessed it, more tuna. We paid off academics to argue that a certain form of molecular mercury was too large to cross the blood–brain barrier.
--
PR firms employ two types of people: bureaucrats and operatives. Bureaucrats are the accountants. The conference call leaders. The digital paper pushers. Operatives infect newsrooms. Call reporters. Do whatever it takes to get ink. I have always been and will always be an operative. Put it on my tombstone.
--
Ninety percent of mega PR firms’ staff are bureaucrats. These firms claim to be experts in media relations, adept at securing coverage. Most of them don’t achieve results for their clients. They don’t know how to start fires. They
--
I’ve got what I need: first ink. Once you create one moment out of nothing, you can create more. You have started a fire.
--
We have the journalists outnumbered. Three hundred thousand people are employed by the PR industry in the United States, compared to an estimated forty thousand journalists. There are seven and a half PR pros for every journalist. Would you take those odds in a fight? We also have journalists outgunned. The average salary for a PR professional is a multiple of what a journalist of comparable experience can make. And
--
When I am trying to place a story, I plan for it to take at least a month. Twenty phone calls. In a 2024 world, I send hundreds of Signal messages. And only one or two emails. Email is the easiest to subpoena, so I limit my work over that platform. The process generally goes something like this. A client calls the firm and presents us with a problem. We do an intake call to understand the scope of the damage. I take the allowed incubation time to consider our options. This can range from thirty minutes in the worst case to a day or two in the best. I am about to admit to a trade secret here, one that might piss off a few people: I engage in the equivalent of “insider trading” with the media on a regular basis. I don’t just talk to myself during this period. I use a group of a dozen journalists to field-test ideas. During my incubation period, I’ll call one or two of them and float a strategy by them that has not been given to the client. It’s always positioned as “What if, hypothetically, my client decided to do X … Would that be newsworthy?” And I make sure that all these calls are off the record. I’m not sure what a journalism school ethics professor would think of this practice. I then present the plan to an internal audience at the firm. Because what I come up with is normally a bit crazy, it then gets modified. After this, the firm presents the strategy to the client. Then we convince them to take our advice.
--
This is where a reporter would normally get involved. If we are lucky, I’ll know a reporter who will take the story immediately. However, normally, I need to ask someone at the target publication for a recommendation of a reporter who covers the issue in question. For the most part, reporter friends will send an email introducing me to a colleague. I then switch the conversation to Signal as quickly as possible and send some version of the following message: “I have a piece of information that no one else has. Do you want it?” Generally, reporters will give you a call after that. Then you move into the “discovery” phase. The discovery phase is when I spend my currency. I have never bribed a journalist. I have heard of it happening in other countries. Clients have asked me to do it. I have worked with a former foreign journalist who had a penchant for taking bribes. But I have never bribed one myself. When I refer to spending my currency, I mean the proprietary information my client has given me to dole out to the media. Once I no longer have any new information to give a journalist, I become irrelevant to the story. More important, I have lost all leverage in the conversation.
--
I’m paid to disseminate information. I tell the truth from a monetized point of view.
--
During media training, PR operatives learn that every story has three parts: a villain, a victim, and a vindicator.
In this story, Mary was the victim, and when he murdered the drunk, George became the villain. In the PR business, we try to convert a villain into a vindicator or a victim as fast as possible. And that’s exactly what the town did when they found George “not guilty” sans trial. They made him the hero, a vindicator of battered women. The deceased drunk was switched from a murder victim to a wife beater who deserved to die. A villain. Every story needs a villain. Show me a good story without one.
--
I tell clients, “Don’t be a hero. Always work to find a better villain.”
--
It makes the opposition look like they’re asleep at the wheel. First ink is the most important. Journalism is the first draft of history, and the first story is the first draft of a news cycle. It sets the tone for the coverage. We’re aiming for “David versus Goliath.”

It’s the client who is convinced they are front-page news who scares me the most.
Their expectations are so out of whack with reality that there is no chance you will ever, ever please them. Fire this client immediately. Other clients don’t understand what news is. It is nothing more complicated than the word new made plural. News. That’s it. It has to be new. So, no, I cannot get the New York Times to write an article about your press release from last month. Then there are the clients who just crave seeing their name in the paper. These people are dangerous. With reckless abandon, these clients will go on the record in a heartbeat, refuse any and all media training, and, most important, likely take advice only from themselves or their trusted spouse.

I’m proud of my work, but I’m not proud of what I’ve done. I’ve manipulated narratives—even invented them when needed—to fix problems for a client. My stories didn’t occur in a vacuum. They circulated out into the world. And they changed it. Sometimes for the worse. Often for the worse. I helped Qatar win the World Cup bid, one of my deepest regrets. I’m not proud to say I’ve seen the destruction my handiwork has created. We live in dangerous times, and my industry helped make them so.

Wiredwake, the Trucking Pokemon It charges up kinetic power as it rolls around. When it finally rests, its head stops floating and recharges the battery packs. It tows loads several times its own weight around cities in areas where larger trucks can't reach.
Types: Steel/Electric Ability: Mercurial / Live Wire — The foe's attempts to slow, paralyze, or sleep this Pokemon instead raise its Speed and charge its next Electric attack. Hidden Ability: Electric Surge
Wiredwake speed around the roads of Manaka, showing up more often at night. Wiredwake refuses to sleep at any cost, having a situational base ability with a high ceiling and a more consistent hidden ability as Manaka Dex's Electric Terrainer. To scare off the Ground types that threaten it, it may want to join Rain Teams with Mercurial, avoiding the drawback by dropping boosted 100% accurate Thunders in the rain.
Hidden Ability Wiredwake can be found around the Roadside Attraction of the Herb Shop, selling the bitter medicines, vitamins, and other niche battle items.
In the imaginary European release, Wiredwake's sunburnt arm would switch to the other side, and this form would be maintained when traded.

Friends, what do you always do
Friends, what do you always do when you have fever?
The first part of our home care is to measure our temperature.
You know friends, you yourself do a unique thing without even knowing it.
You measure the Fahrenheit degree by holding a thermometer under your tongue or inside your arm.
Do you know friends what is in this thermometer?
Well, let it go, we will create a story in our free time.
What is special about Mercury and chemical mercury?
Mercury: Facts - NASA Science
NASA Science (.gov)
https://science.nasa.gov › mercury › facts
Mercury is the second densest planet, after Earth. It has a large metallic core with a radius of about 1,289 miles (2,074 kilometers), about 85% of the planet's radius. There is evidence that it is partly molten or liquid.
Mercury (element)
Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org › wiki › Mercury_(element)
Mercury is a chemical element; it has symbol Hg and atomic number 80. It is also known as quicksilver and was formerly named hydrargyrum (/haɪˈdrɑːrdʒərəm/ hy-DRAR-jər-əm) from the Greek words hydor (water) and argyros (silver), from which its chemical symbol is derived.[8] A heavy, silvery d-block element, mercury is the only metallic element that is known to be liquid at standard temperature and pressure; the only other element that is liquid under these conditions is the halogen bromine, though metals such as caesium, gallium, and rubidium melt just above room temperature.[a]
Mercury occurs in deposits throughout the world mostly as cinnabar (mercuric sulfide). The red pigment vermilion is obtained by grinding natural cinnabar or synthetic mercuric sulfide. Exposure to mercury and mercury-containing organic compounds is toxic to the nervous system, immune system and kidneys of humans and other animals; mercury poisoning can result from exposure to water-soluble forms of mercury (such as mercuric chloride or methylmercury) either directly or through mechanisms of biomagnification.
Mercury is used in thermometers, barometers, manometers, sphygmomanometers, float valves, mercury switches, mercury relays, fluorescent lamps and other devices, although concerns about the element's toxicity have led to the phasing out of such mercury-containing instruments.[9] It remains in use in scientific research applications and in amalgam for dental restoration in some locales. It is also used in fluorescent lighting. Electricity passed through mercury vapor in a fluorescent lamp produces short-wave ultraviolet light, which then causes the phosphor in the tube to fluoresce, making visible light.

Pump Float Switches
Pump float switches or sump pump float switches are small float switch which hangs in a septic tank. As the level of water rises the vertical float switch gradually rises with the present water. When the water level along with the float switch reaches a particular height, at the height the switch is activated and the pump is turned off. There are mainly two types of pump float switches, one is “Mercury Activated” and another is “Mechanical”.” Mercury activated” switches are very reliable and have a long lasting capacities compared to the “Mechanical” float switches. The price of “Mechanical” switches is much less than “Mercury Activated” switches. The sump pump float switches can be further divided into few sub types. In this article I will discuss about those sub types of pump float switch. Vertical float Switch This kind of switches is cheap and also comes in great quality. The switch floats on the water and when the water level reaches a certain level then the switch is triggered. The advantage of this switch is that it does not get jammed or stuck because here the movement of the switch is limited and it only flows up or down.

Diaphragm Switch These types of switches are very expensive and are mostly used by professionals. It is immersed in the water and is very sensitive to the pressure created by the water. As the pressure increases the switch becomes concave and it turns on the switch. As the pressure becomes less the switch is turned off. Electronic Switch This kind of switches are called flood free switch. This type of switches is immerged in the water and working is dependent on the water pressure. The water pressure activates the probe wire that is present in the septic tank and triggers the switch.

gundam question! I am confused
What is a gundam? I watched a vid with this title and the guy said "they have these certain colors and maybe some horn things on their heads and are made of a special metal" and that explained nothing.
Why are people worried that the warcrimes kid Eri is now the gundam? Do gundams eat their pilots? Do they power their big attacks by eating people, specifically their pilots? Is Suletta in danger of getting eaten too?
When Suletta pilots Aeriel, is she actually... doing anything? The fight clips I've seen, it just seems like she's in there and the gundam does complex stuff while she talks to herself. And I get that's a thing, in general, with anime, but I'm seriously confused here.
Is Aeriel an AI and Suletta basically just there to press the On switch? Does she feed power to the gundam somehow? Is she the one moving it around???
What the FUCK is a gundam!?
I grew up watching a VHS of Zoids Liger Zero (my command wolf is still around here, somewhere) and I WANT to be into a mecha show again especially if the MC is a dork idiot girl blowing things up for her bride, but I don't understand! None of the article's I've read make sense! What part of these battles am I supposed to worry about? What makes a gundam different from a non-gundam robot????
Please, if you have the energy to help, or link me to place where someone explains it... please.. im thirsty for mecha and confused
oh jesus what an Ask dfskldsfd
WELL a gundam is a robot. Like that's a given but the main thing in Gundam is that the gundam, the titular robot, is The Coolest Robot you can find. Usually you can tell gundams apart because they have two eyes and a v-fin on their heads but that's not canon for every series so it isn't really a way to tell them apart always. Also the characteristics of the gundam vary between series. The most important thing about gundam is the pilot. The gundam is usually set apart from other mobile suits because of a specific characteristic that others dont have like a psychommu or a GN drive, but what matters is its pilot, that's what makes a gundam special.
Gundam in itself its not a franchise about robots, but afrachise with different stories about different characters with a specific message (like War Bad or Fuck Silly) that has robots in it. You can relax, the definition of a gundam isn't something set in stone and it will be unique in each series you watch.
Im gonna start the part about G Witch by telling you right off the bat, the witch from mercury is a series that's just coming out and we don't have a lot of information about Eri, Suletta and Gundam Aerial. Most of the stuff you see floating around on tumblr besides the gay is basically throwing spaghetti at the wall type headcanons.
So the main thing why people think Eri is now Aerial, as in she was consumed or absorbed by the gundam, is that there are signs that Eri and Suletta are not the same person. For starters, it seems like Suletta doesn't remember the events of the prologue. Her age is another big thing-the prologue happens 20 years before the series and Suletta is only 17 years old, which seems to be a sign that she is another different person.
Aerial itself is very special too because in the little tale we got it is completely sentient and bonds with Suletta. I cant really remember an instance in which the gundam does that in another gundam series? gundams are usually just robots. The big thing about gundam is that the power of the gundam depends on the pilot, gundams aren't usually sentient. But this seems to be a nudge towards the theory that Ericht Samaya was absorbed by it, and as you said, the strength of Aerial doesn't seem to depend from Suletta but it appears to be within Aerial itself.
Plus the displays of power of the Aerial are very unique; cant remember exactly the episode but during a specific fight we see the bits of the Aerial transform into what seem children made of light, which also implies there might be more than one person in there. It's A Lot to take in. But again, we're just getting started with the series so all of it is just headcanons.
So for now just chill. Sit down with a cup of tea and turn your brain off, enjoy the gay and the big robot fights, that's the best way to watch gundam. If you really need the explanations as you watch I think you'd better just wait til the series is done to watch it in one go, or watch a different gundam series that isn't as insane as g witch.
Hope this helps, and if it doesn't, I reccomend once again trying a less balls to the wall series like Gundam Wing or Gundam 00! my askbox is open always if you have any other mech stuff you wanna yell about.
Good day!

Mechtober Day 30 - Death/Endings
@mechtober2022
"Captain Reeve of the SS Ursa Major speaking, log number 43, standard date 30/2/97.
"All supplies are at good levels for our current progress, algae production is a little under quota but M. Jackson assures me we still have enough for our fuel. Various minor repairs have been carried out to moderate success, but the lights will actually switch on now so I'm not going to complain. Crew in better spirits than last week, or at least they're not threatening the food stasis chamber anymore. Reports of my joining in on the threats have, ah, probably been exaggerated but I can't say I'll be upset when we touch down planetside and finally get some fresh vegetables. Have tasked M. Ness with increasing the efficiency of the engine and that seems to be working at keeping xem out of trouble.
"Then there's the matter of our, uh, newest passenger, she's currently present as I record this. Joined us on 21/2/97, refer back to log number, uh, 41 it'll be.
"Crew have taken to calling her Borealis, from the system we found her in. Still hasn't spoken, though she evidently understands us since she communicates in other ways, albeit rarely I admit. Two days ago she agreed to Dr. Lora carrying out a full medical examination, results of which show a clean bill of health. Nothing out of the ordinary for a human in her later twenties. She will stay with us until we next touch down planetside or…"
Reeve pauses, rubbing his eyes. She glances up at the woman sitting opposite, the one the crew have call Borealis.
Part of him reaches a decision.
"Skies- okay fuck it, I'm sorry, I can't keep up the professionalism anymore. And if some pencil pushing desk jockey is thinking of writing me up for this- well- just hear me out, okay?"
She looks over at Borealis, then motions to the voice recorder. Asking if Borealis wants to tell her own story.
Borealis just shakes her head, making what Reeve assumes is a you go on gesture. He takes another moment to gather his thoughts before continuing:
"Okay, yeah, alright, because the thing is, Borealis got a clean bill of health, yes? Great, good, we like not having medical emergencies on board.
"But that leaves me to ask, how the fuck can someone float - entirely exposed! - in the vacuum of space, for however long it was before we picked her up, and come out of the other end perfectly healthy? And when I say perfectly healthy I, uh, would like to note that this is excluding the blood test results, which just showed mercury. Not, not mercury in her blood, I mean mercury instead of."
A heavy sigh. She's had to rethink a lot of her held beliefs about how the world works recently.
"Look- look okay yes, I know how this sounds. You're probably sat there at your little desk thinking “skies above, she's lost his mind, he needs to be removed from active duty before she fucks something up fatally”. But Lora's medical files are all here. Read them. Or, get someone with higher security clearance to read them, and ask really nicely for the summary.
"Because I am not even in the vicinity of fucking around right now. We have, on board, an otherwise perfectly normal, alive, human who has pure liquid mercury in her veins and survived in space for-"
"Nearly 78 years," Borealis interrupts.
Reeve yelps in surprise.
"Well fuck me! You can talk!"
Then she grimaces.
"Ah, sorry. You surprised me. Uh, so, for the benefit of the log, that's Borealis who just spoke. Wait- what's your name?"
"Nastya."
He offers B- no, Nastya- a smile he hopes is reassuring.
"Then it's nice to meet you properly, Nastya."
A pause.
"Can I, can I ask…?"
"You are wondering how I can survive, yes? You will have to content yourself with not knowing."
"But-" Reeve tries to protest. Nastya interrupts her before she can get any more out.
"No. Was it a mistake when Carmilla brought us back? My opinion changes still."
That last part was quiet, like Nastya had entirely forgotten Reeve was there. For a moment, there's a faraway look on her face, before she jolts back to the present.
"But I do know this - the secret of what she did should die with us. And I am dead, that is all you need to know."
Reeve blinks.
Dead?, he thinks.
"Dead?", she says aloud. "But you're here, speaking, breathing, the all of it!" She gestures at Nastya.
"You're - this is gonna sound so rude I do apologise - you're unnaturally alive."
She makes a maybe gesture.
“Yes. And no. I… felt my blood slow and solidify in my veins, and I knew I was dying. When we wrote ourselves immortal, the universe believed us, and when I wrote myself an ending it believed me then. I think, I think I believed myself too, for a bit.”
The pause lasts forever.
“So I took the last memory I had of my love, and I cast myself into the void. And there I floated, systems offline, until you found me. I am alive, I breathe, and yet - for all intents and purposes - I am dead.”
Either that was an elaborate metaphor - which Reeve never could get the hang of - or she was telling the truth, which would be exponentially worse.
"You faked your death?" he asks, not a bad guess considering. "You’re not on the run from the authorities or anything?"
“I’m definitely wanted by the authorities, but that is another point entirely."
Nastya laughs at his gobsmacked expression.
"Don't worry about it. Let’s say though: yes, I did fake my death. I lied to the universe in its entirety that I was dead, and got away whilst everyone was distracted.”
Huh.
It didn't make sense, per se. You couldn't get a fake death notice to trick the abstract concept of "the universe".
Then again, it was a big world out there. Skies only knew she'd seen some weird shit out in space.
"So you’re gonna just, what?, stay on the run? Will no-one notice that reports of your death were greatly exaggerated?"
Nastya's laugh is genuine.
“No. I’m going to find some forgotten corner on some backwater asteroid and camp out there.. If I live a quiet enough life, then there will be nothing to sing about. The universe will look over me in search of something more interesting.”
There's something unspoken there. A quiet life, a life alone. Lonely at the end of space, maybe to end when Nastya died, or maybe she never would now, and would keep living until the stars gave out.
It sounded nightmarish.
Didn't Nastya have someone though? Reeve is sure she mentioned-
"You- didn't you say you had a lover? Maybe if-"
“She's dead.”
There's grief in Nastya's voice, but a quiet acceptance too. It must have happened a long time ago.
Reeve makes a fist, pressing it to his heart.
"I’m sorry."
Nastya offers an almost-smile. When she speaks, her voice is small.
“She… she died one piece at a time, until one day I looked into her eyes and saw no trace of the one who I had loved. The bonds between us faded and broke one by one. It's a terrible thing to love someone like that. When the one now bearing her body and name is not the one you fell in love with."
She stops, wiping at her eyes with a sleeve.
"Sometimes I dream that I'll find her again, on the other side of the horizon. At the end of everything."
Nastya is deep in her memories now, saying nothing. Reeve reaches over, taking her hand in his and squeezing it gently.
It's as cold as the grave.
They sit there as the silence expands around them. Reeve wishes she could say something, but this is grief on a timescale he can't even begin to conceptualise.
Maybe it's a long time before Nastya next speaks, or maybe it only seemed like that. She squeezes Reeve's hand in return before taking hers back.
"Look at me," she says in a thick voice. "I'm sure you have more important things to do than listen to an old lady's sorrows."
Old? Reeve almost asks, but figured Nastya was right. She'd content herself with not knowing.
"Not too much, honestly," she says instead. "I'll finish this report log an-"
“Report?”
There's a sudden sharpness to Nastya's voice.
"Yeah, uh-"
"No. The music is broken, okay? There is no more music, no more story. There is no-one pulling my strings, there is no-one writing out my actions. I am dead, I have ended. The universe moves on without me and this is the freest I have ever been."
Desperation creeps in.
"Please, let me stay that way."
And Reeve wants to, skies he wants to. But lying to Central is unthinkable and not sending a report at all is even more so. Besides - it wouldn't just be his job on the line. Her entire crew could go down with her.
"I- Central- Central policy states I have to make these logs, twice a week minimum," he tries to explain. "Doctors reports, maintenance records, observations. I’m sorry, I don't know-"
A beat.
Then Nastya's pushing herself up and away from the desk, half-running out of the door.
Reeve lets her go.
He sighs, burying her face in her hands.
"Yeah," she says quietly, in a way that doesn't make it all alright.
"Yeah…"
"I guess this is Captain Reeve signing-"
And that's when she cuts herself off. He watches the light on the recorder flash its steady rhythm. Waiting for her.
"Fuck it."
She almost laughs.
"Recorder, delete that entire log. Get up all of them since the 21st too, they need editing. Oh, and call in Lora too. There's something important we need to talk about."
#this is set post Out and also contains Nastya which is a fun sequence of words to write#the mechanisms#mechtober 2022#writing
